WORK UNITS

The GBMinAIRS project is organized into six (6) work units (WUs), eighteen (18) sub-work units (SWU), sixteen (16) deliverables and six (6) milestones. These activities, based on the optimal distribution of tasks, time and resources (human and material), ensure the perfection in the implementation of the proposed research project.

WU1 (Definition of technical requirements & specifications), WU2 (Development of GBMs for deicing systems), WU3 (Development of GBMs for lightning protection), WU4 (Development of GBMs for resistance to flame propagation) and WU5 (Development of GBMs for reduction of moisture absorption) are the main technical work units of the project where the development and characterization of the new materials as well as the final small-scale prototypes will take place.

WU6 (Application of the developed technologies to a representative element of an aviation structure, dissemination/exploitation of results) constitutes the WU where the functionality of the developed materials and the interaction between the parts of different functionality in the composite material structure will be evaluated and at the same time it will constitute the WU where it will be designed the plan for the dissemination of the knowledge that will be acquired through the implementation of the project activities (publication of articles in scientific journals) and the possible possibility of commercial exploitation of the results or acquisition of intellectual property rights will be examined.
